Every accusation is an admission, each criticism a confession, of crimes committed and crimes yet to come.

One of the finest scientific visuals in recent memory. Even the scaling of pan contents is approximately balanced. Evocative, effective, practically perfect in every way.
Humans have emitted 2750 gigatons of CO2 since the industrial revolution from burning fossil fuels and land use change. To put this in perspective, this is more than the (dry) mass of all living things on earth and everything humans have ever built combined:

Not as bad as "Russia or China" is a terribly low bar! Each day of this administration, they break multiple laws, disregard legal actions, renew on agreements... we are in autocracy now, and daily slipping further into that deathly abyss. It is indeed deadly already, esp but not only for immigrants
"Countries that slide from democracy toward autocracy tend to follow similar patterns…Our country is still not close to being a true autocracy, in the mold of Russia or China. But once countries begin taking steps away from democracy, the march often continues."

If you personally know any of our generals being called in for their new oaths (why else need an in-person meeting), please call them and offer your support for their support of our Constitution... the need for our unwavering support never been more immediate and more important.
In 1935 German leadership called a surprise meeting and informed their previous oath to uphold the Weimar constitution was now void and they instead must swear a personal oath to the Führer. Many claimed they didn’t like the order, but they did it anyway.

Of course not, but 1st amend rights just don't matter anymore. Our NPR station is fundraising right now, but it won't be long before the corporate sponsors all *choose* to end support. And the public university overlords *choose* to end support. The writing on the wall is writ large and clear.
Yes. And. Even if he had, the government doesn’t have a right to intervene. The use of the FCC to regulate protected speech is textbook anti-constitutional.
Important to keep remembering and repeating that Kimmel didn't mock Charlie Kirk or celebrate his death in the monologue. He mocked the president's lack of feeling and criticized the regime.

Stephen Miller: If you say a word against Charlie Kirk, you are on The List.
An incredibly disturbing tweet from Stephen Miller twelve hours ago. He purports to identify a "depraved," "malicious" "ideology" but doesn't name it. He describes it as an amorphous evil defined by its opposition to anything he likes. And anything he likes is sunny and good. Goebbels would approve.

You call it "thoughtless" Senator Paul? This was not in the least thoughtless; it was a fully thought out, full-throated authoritarian justification of political murder. And indeed a celebration of that murder, and a call for more of it.
Senator Rand Paul directly and forthrightly takes on JD Vance:

"What a despicable and thoughtless sentiment it is to glorify killing someone without a trial."

I wish I could laugh at this. But they're serious, and not just Mormons or Christian Nationalists either, rank and file they've adopted this stance. They say Marx posited class warfare, but now libs posit white males vs all the poor downtrodden acronyms. Ergo, DEI+ is Marxism, plain and simple.
It seem insane for a US Senator to say we've all been subjected to "a relentless bombardment of Marxist propaganda." But what he means by this is 1) there was a Burger King ad with an interracial couple and 2) Star Wars Episodes VII-IX had a female lead.
