Very telling tonight on Question Time how much the Labour minister absolutely did not want me to talk.

Every time I even began a sentence he started to try and distract me.

It's not going to work on anyone.

While I think most literate people can be insightful and articulate in text form, if given enough time to collect their thoughts, it is a rare talent to be able to do that verbally, in real time, while responding to interruptions, hostile jibes or pointed questions and STILL get your point across.

The Express is furious about this because the moment you show those who repeat anti-immigration rhetoric the real human stories their narrative collapses.

The “immigrants” are people. Our friends, colleagues and family.

And it’s this nation of neighbours that is what makes Britain great.

This hasn't had much coverage, amidst all the debate about jury trials, but there is also a lot of concern about Lammy's plans to remove the automatic right to appeal

Indeed
A nation that demonises people fleeing war and terror and constantly paints them as lesser humans is a nation without a heart. That’s the path we’re on and we must not blindly walk it.

UK energy bill payers to hand £2bn a year in subsidies to EDF, owned by the French govt, for building two nuclear power stations.

That will come handy in keeping energy prices down in France, improving govt finances.

Dividends won't be taxed in the UK.

Videos claiming that a new law will require digital ID for purchases above £20, and could see fines for repeated cash payments, are false.

There is no evidence of any such policies being introduced.
No, you won’t need digital ID for cash payments over £20 in the new year – Full Fact
Videos circulating online claim that from 2026 purchases above £20 will need digital ID verification, and repeated cash payments could result in fines. But neither of these claims are true.

Rachel Reeves says this Labour Governments decisions are "necessary."

Why is it always necessary to hit the living standards of the 99%?

When are we going to make the necessary decisions about extreme wealth?

Yeah but why wait until April? They need help over this winter 😖
Well done to all the Labour MPs who stood up to the leadership on lifting the two child benefit cap. 👏🏽

So we are clear welfare spending in this country is NOT “out of control”. It’s risen very little in 10+ years. Small increase due to ageing & ill population. But benefits to working age families & children have been cut severely. Over 70% of children in poverty live in working families #Budget2025

And Domination makes for good extra reading too! I thought it a bit strange to avoid any mention of Christianity as the state religion of Rome by the end of the 4th century - and it contributed to decreasing tax revenues too as bishops & monasteries claimed exemptions! 2/2

China has brought millions out of poverty. The US has not – by choice.

The UK is following the US model. Wealth concentrated in fewer hands. 24m can't attain minimum standard of living, real average wage unchanged since 2008, public services eroded, profiteering is rife.
