Great start to the season beating Pitbulls 7-2 at home. Quite a few standout performances, especially from Korenchuk and Gabaj. Also thought Hedley had a great game, keeping Bristol at bay until late in the game.

Despite being sidetracked I have now got all the Luton results from the Metropolitan League in 1959-60 and am missing 3 results from the whole league. Thankfully our results from that season tally up with the league table, I was expecting to have a missing goal here or there which normally happens!

I've gone down the rabbit hole of looking for Luton Town Ladies old results/tables, I swear it is easier finding Luton Town reserves results from 1895 than it is the Ladies from the early 2000's.
In fact it makes looking for Luton 'A' results from the Metropolitan League seem like a doddle!

I'm also working through heritage numbers for the MKL players, . 1 Nick Pool, 2 Simon Howard etc. I'm not sure what to do with players who have been on the game sheet but not actually iced right now. If I remember correctly they were not added on the legacy jersey the club released in 2023.

Working my way through all the results from the 1959-60 Metropolitan League, which was won by Luton Town 'A' to put on Ltrack. Found most of the results for each team, though annoyingly some of the results are different in different papers. Few other anomalies as well that need to be ironed out.

On this day in 1992 Luton Town beat Aston Villa 2-0 at home in Division 1. For many years I would then add this was our last win the the top flight but that thankfully that stat has now gone!

A hugely deserved playoff win for MKL, it would have been a travesty to have done so well this season and to have finished it with nothing. Two superb games, beating league champions Leeds in the semi's and reigning playoff holders Peterborough in the final was a fitting end to the campaign.

MKL 5-1 Wildcats. A wonderful win in what for 30 mins was an incredible tight battle. A cracking Cownie goal then set us up to win the match with another 4 goals coming in the next 14 minutes. Fantastic ⚡️

Luton 0-1 Sheff United. A much improved performance where we actually looked like a football team. We should have scored but didn't and got punished for it. Should this performance have come a few months ago I would feel a lot more confident of staying up.
