(Jayden) Nine months ago next week, we posted The Darkest Rainbow’s first chapter. Months ago, we started writing out this scene…before S2 dropped. We’ve added a few things to it as we’ve worked on this Chapter, but we were already portraying the exorcist corps as an abusive cult. We were right.

I've said it before, but it's so sweet that I've seen more people say 'I haven't drawn/written fic in years, but this fandom sparked that creativity again' about the hellaverse than any other fandom I've been in. There's just some Juice in here.

(Jade) After listening to Brighter a few dozen times and someone pointing out that Vox’s outfit always imitates those he is replacing, it occurred to us just how filled with cliches that song is. @samhaft.com did a brilliant job making a song that is both catchy and filled with unoriginal statements

(Jayden) In the last ten days we somehow wrote, rewrote and published three chapters amounting to 29,552 words. As You Fall just, somehow, we had to do it. We had to write all of that. Now we are turning our attention to The Darkest Rainbow and do some cleanup.

(Jayden) We’re coming up on the nine month anniversary of becoming a publishing fanfic writer. We plan on putting out the final chapter of The Darkest Rainbow. It isn’t the end of the story, but we’re going to end that story there (at about 70k words) and start a sequel. Just, wow, people read these

Blitzo shrugged like his question hadn't been that deep. "I dunno. It's just a weird thought, ya know? Like, here is a place where Sinners end up when they die, right? Here is basically assumed to be the final destination. "I've killed demons here. I never see them respawn elsewhere around here like a video game NPC. So, where do we go when we're shunted from this Final Destination?" He smiled weakly at Stolas. "It's kinda turning my brain into a pretzel just thinking about it. It's no big deal." ~*~*~*~*~ Or, Blitzo and Stolas are forced to confront Blitzo's mortality and choose to take upon themselves the eon-spanning journey of Soulmates. XD Intended for the Hurt/Comfort prompt, but this basically also ended up unwittingly covering several of the other prompts, and after all the work I put into this, I'm probably just gonna let this be my Stolitz Week participation for this year. ~*~*~*~*~ Y'ALL!!!! The problem with limited immortality was that it was limited. Stolas' first brush with this knowledge came when Blitzo returned from a hit with knife wounds deep and close enough to vital organs as to require emergency surgery and hospitalization. And seeing his Blitzy lying there, pale and weak, was the first real lick of fear that Stolas had ever felt for his beloved Imp. It was horrifying, this realization that he'd never previously reconciled. He'd never had a reason to. In Stolas' eyes, his Blitzy was practically invincible. He was strong, capable. He knew how to handle himself in a fight. Nothing could touch him. Until it did. And when it did, it also touched Stolas in the worst of places. He was forced to realize that someday his Blitzy would die. Not a matter of "if" but "when." Even if he lived his long life to the very oldest age possible for someone of his species, someday Blitzy would be gone. The knowledge was ice and acid, pouring over his psyche and soul like a horrible syrup, clinging to his feathers with dread. What would he do in his eternity if Blitzo wasn't there with him? ~*~*~*~*~ Stolas was by Blitzo's side when he awoke at last from his surgery. It had been touch-and-go, and, to Stolas horror, he'd learned that Blitzo had flatlined at one point, almost beyond their reach. Fear solidified around him like amber encasing an insect, keeping him lashed to Blitzo's side, refusing to miss the moment his beloved Imp opened his eyes, needing the reassurance that they would not yet be parted. His father visited briefly while Stolas kept his vigil. Or, rather, his butler visited with a mirror. Stolas didn't have the energy to so much as scoff. Of course, his father couldn't be bothered to actually be here for him. This was nothing new and his father's already-cavernous distance had only deepened when he decided to divorce Stella; deeper still when he proudly and unabashedly proclaimed his love and devotion for an Imp in front of Satan and everyone.
