The fact that many on this post are now accusing the bereaved grandad of attempting to abduct his grandson, rather than focusing on the ICE agents who killed his mother, doesn’t bode well for anyone doing actually anything about this.
Renee Nicole Good, the woman shot & killed by an ICE agent, had a young son whose father died in 2023, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune

“There’s nobody else in his life,” the boy’s grandfather told the paper. “I’ll drive. I’ll fly. To come get my grandchild.” www.huffpost.com/entry/latest...

The live action 101 Dalmatians have Raccoons dunking Cruella into a vat of molasses in rural Suffolk.
#FilmSky, a quick question; what is the pettiest thing you have had to be annoyed at a film? I ask because I am watching The Gift from 2000, and the main character does divination with Zener Cards, which are not the same thing as Tarot at all. Why go for a more boring looking option?

Labour’s two budgets have delivered progressive tax and benefit changes that benefit the poorest and children the most.

I’m more than comfortable with that.

Although the scale of this is still to be assessed, this is the inevitable outcome of the monetization of the algorithm. Rage-bait becomes a personal revenue model. Nothing about this should be a surprise.
NEWS: I spent the past 24 hours going through major MAGA accounts on Twitter, and a bombshell development has become clear: most of the right-wing ecosphere is being fed propaganda from foreign actors.

This impacts elections. This impacts discourse. This is major. Subscribe to support my work:

YA shouldn’t exist as a separate category—it infantilizes teenagers who can/should just read regular books for adults. And don’t get me started on adults reading YA…

I’m sorry but no. Protests and demos with dozens or low hundreds of attendees are not especially newsworthy. I’ve seen larger turnouts at a Warhammer event.

A second free push for this. I’m slightly surprised that the doge thing is the only element of the Reform local govt agenda that seems to have captured the national chat in any way. From where I’m sitting, this is the bit of their agenda, and their politics, to watch before that

Fantastic article by @tomcalver.bsky.social: not only is the UK not a high-tax country, taxes on *middle-income* earners are low by international standards.

If taxes are to rise - and they should - it can't/won't be just on "the rich".
