My OCD has superpower aspects. Advocates monthly town meetings at Dunkin' in breakaway NE. Dreams of being an economist. Assume it's a failed attempt at humor. Don't want the drama.

If Sam Darnold wins MVP it's a bullshit award. In this game, someone on D or the kicker.

I have enjoyed the Adrian Brody tax ads.

As a Patriots fan (the heart loves what the heart loves, but f-ck Kraft, Brady) I always enjoyed the maps of who America is rooting for (44 states other team, 6 New England). But this is classic satire:

So, we're using arabic numerals to refer to SuperBowl's now?

I was reading @theathletic.com and it seems to be the Times style now. When did that happen?

What is wrong with people? This is just someone who followed their interest and did their job and we all benefit daily and can't she just get recognized without....

Thank you Gladys Mae West, who I had never heard of but now I know.
No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology
She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

BlueSky will the home of more "let me tell you how angry I am by telling you how disinterested I am at sports and the Superbowl" (often trying to be funny, i.e., "sportball").

Being disinterested is fine. Let others enjoy their thing.

So, Prince's "Raspberry Beret" is just a retelling and extension of John Updike's "A&P" right?

* or there is a whole genre of "frustrated clerk who act when they encounter hot girls at work" media out there.

Some of Stancil's critics don't seem to appreciate that his platform keeps all of this on people's radar.

Trump is trying hard to move on from this, plus Epstein, Kennedy Center and life all want to put MN in the rear window. These posts lets us casual news consumers know the battle continues.
What real heroism looks like is you drive past a school and it’s 7am and it’s -3 out and there are four dads posted at every door scanning every passing car to be sure it’s not someone coming to take the children. And you drive by at noon and they’re there. And you drive by at 3pm and they’re there
Anyway the real heroes of Minnesota are the countless volunteers doing boring shifts where nothing happens. The mom of three delivering food to 40 families in her kids’ school. The dad standing at the door of an elementary with a whistle for hours. The drivers endlessly looping, seeing nothing.

This is a brilliant collage of historical value.

It's Ballgazi.

Not Deflategate. We need to move on from the "gate" suffix and two "gates" in a career is just too much. Thank you @rayratto.bsky.social for your attention in this matter.

If Bill Belichick was willing to play to type today, he would rise in Uppermost Dudgeon—it’s a suburb of Foxborough—and say he doesn’t want to be voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame at all, won’t...

Can we stop this storyline right now?! That game was 12 years ago. The Patriots have had 3 SB since and 2 wins, one a comeback in OT more thrilling than their escape against Seattle. And both teams hit bottom and are reborn.

Plenty to write about. Let's move on.

Walked 10 minutes in 3 degrees to gym. Closed. Walked 10 minutes back. That's cold.

Man, those Minnesota folks are BRAVE. Being out in negatives all day, under fire and shouting. I hope when the moment comes I rise to it.

Our Democratic elected officials are not rising to this moment so most of them must go.

Any elected official who isn’t willing to organize a Project 2029 around punishing everyone in the Trump administration in order to save democracy must go.

@balint.house.gov I appreciate your work but why is leadership not on all of this? Why is Jefferies not on the front line of the push to stop funding or hold folks accountable or on the street?

And if he's unwilling or unable, why aren't you vocally pushing for new leadership?

I always thought Alan Moore came up with the phrase (okay, Watchmen, but, yeah). Benefit of a the British education system, I guess.

I wrote an article about listening to radio stations online (it was 1998) and a year later I was at a random small dinner and someone said "Are you the guy who wrote that article...."

You never know who picks up your writing. But hearing they did really works.
