So I thought, yeah I can paint anything. This should be no different.
Nope. I’ve never painted something like Mina before so I’m having to learn how to do it efficiently but also to make her look real.

There’s always an “ugly” phase in art where you’re not sure if it’s gonna come together.

We’re in the downhill stretch if I’m painting.
Fun fact: I’ve never done this before either.
This is called psycho paint because you have to be a psycho to paint with it.
It’s silicone paint and it has to be tinted with pigment separately and applied in a zillion layers.

Did my first wall mounting test to see if she holds. She does!! Her jaw is printing and that’ll take a couple more days and I have to wait on material for other things. But she’s finally coming along.

But her upper teeth are in. This is the old skin just got a fit test. I’m working on the inside of her mouth and throat and tongue as well as getting her brain sorted.
She better be perfect when I’m done!!

I was fiddling with her eye movement behavior and as a goof I thought I’d also see how her eyelid blinking affects her skin and I found out that her eyelid mucks up her eye sculpt. So she may not blink but that eye looking around is gonna look real and ferocious.

I had a freaking breakthrough! I didn’t know how loud I could make her. I thought she’d sound weak and fake.
Hell no.
Turn the sound up and keep in mind she’s gonna have two speakers. This is just one with the volume BARELY turned up.

If you believe that Dem leadership is fighting for you, ask them what they did when the Supreme Court took away the human rights of 50% of the nation, when two thirds of Americans disagreed with the Court’s decision, and we had the presidency. More than 3 years later. Ask how they’ve fought.

So I guess it’s taken me about 2 weeks to learn animatronics and some engineering.
Next update will be a painted one with hopefully a better looking eyeball and cooler movements.

So I figured this out.
Already working on Mina 2.0. This is her eye under UV light to cure. Her eyes will be fully articulating and she’ll be able to blink. I’m also figuring out how to automate her jaw and making her roar on command.

Doing an upper tooth check on Mina. I’m finding a ton of little things that aren’t perfect on her which I was hoping to avoid but considering I’ve never done this before, I’d say she’s a good prototype and I’m learning a lot.

Started working on her other side for coloring and doing patchwork. I also threw in my hand so you can see just how big she is.

I threw a placeholder eyeball in her to see if the size is right and painted some more. I’m confident I have to resculpt her upper teeth.
But I think I got the coloring down so I’m gonna get her skin secured and start painting her all around.
