You know what? I've never done an intro post. Who am I? I'm Tegan. I'm a professional disembodied voice (not in the fun way) and I'm a member of an amazing video game orchestra. When I'm not doing either of those, I write stuff and watch a lot of things. Yeah. That about covers it. Any questions?

I got out of the house today and went to work. The roads weren't too bad! Work was work. But the rest of the day was okay. I'm checking in to say that I wrote words and now it's time for bed.

I’ve said this before but a well written romance is the backbone of so many beloved films and tv shows across genres. If you take the romance out of HEAT you have no movie. Point Break, Brooklyn 99. A lot execs and writers now don’t understand this.
The assumption that all romance is trash for dumb people who like formulas -- that's still a thing in TV & film. A big thing. Also, like, I'm sorry, but a middle or upper class man is an asshole and is doing crimes or solving crimes? That's not a genre? MORE formulaic than a romance? HILARIOUS

My smoke detectors started screaming again just after midnight. We had already started low-key planning to replace them. The key is now high. I hope they stay silent long enough for us to replace them without further sleep interruptions.

I'd lucked out with a day off of work today. I spent a good chunk of time clearing the unholy mix of snow and ice off of our driveway. My body is already making me pay for it. But I still continued my writing streak. Wahoo.

I somehow cobbled together enough brain power to keep up with my "write at least a few words every day" streak. I'll add that to today's pile of little victories.

We just wrapped today's D&D session. There was a human-sized fish leading a conga line. There were oracular dreams. There was an enchanted job/community board made sentient through the power of friendship. The party will embark on a team-building exercise next session. Mwahahaha.

Update: Laundry has been accomplished (the washing and putting away). I briefly participated in Round One of shoveling. Shoveling is currently on an extended Sleet Delay. I am now getting ready to run a D&D session this afternoon.
