Thank you! I'm excited, and still have a week of time off to power through the project 🙂

I get that, I kept writing "Day of the Chrysalids" 😅

The show was recorded and I'm excited for the earlier episodes in the series to be posted.

I know next to nothing about earlier periods (including the original pansy craze, which gave us the name), and am eager to learn following the framework the show uses: celebrated, commodified, criminalized.

Book 36: The Chrysalids by John Wyndham. @meakoopa.bsky.social gifted me this classic of Canadian high school curricula & I really enjoyed it!

A fascinating urtext for the X-Men (incl flipflopping on mutant/ human relations) and sense8. It also uses the term "spider-man" 7 years before P Parker 🕷️

Thank you! I'm hopeful I can keep going with this even after the new job starts. It's been really nice to be excited about it again!

Book 35: You Weren't Meant to Be Human by @ajwhiteauthor.bsky.social.

I keep thinking about one particular moment that, at first, reads as hopeful and upbeat, but that actually reframes the story with an additional profound horror.

Just such a great story, great characters, recommended for sure.

The Harbingers quite literally has brought me back to audio dramas.

I'd forgotten the sensation of "shit, what do I do on my walks now?", a sensation I have loaded up my podcast app with downloads on order to not to experience again 😅

When I was doing my PGCE we were heavily encouraged to use AI to help with lesson planning. I asked it to give me a list of the first 20 elements in a random order, the list included triangle, gold and air. Not touched it since.

Haha that would be great, since you don't see it immediately on walking in.
