I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

I've seen a lot of odd takes about the asbestos thing. Investigating deeper makes it make more sense. The asbestos under discussion is specific to only 2-3 industries, esp. the manufacture of car brakes. And it was only banned in 2024, with a 5 year time frame for total elimination. Answer: money.

doing some reading on conservatives' long love affair with foreign authoritarians and one thing i'm struck by is their credulity and gullibility. you see this now with orban: "serious" conservatives hailing orban as an illiberal leader, while actual Hungarians are like "this guy is a two-bit thief"
