Do Only Good Everyday
I just updated my VSCode and turns out they rolled out something called copy breadcrumb path.

Can any experienced coder tell me, what is breadcrumb path and where can it be implemented?

Blunder after blunder, yet he keeps going on. 🐭♟️

He thought he was searching for cheese, but ended up in a high-stakes chess match instead. He’s hopemaxxing his way to the top.

The internet has become a machine for rage-bait, insecurity, and division. We’re being conditioned to be selfish and cynical for the sake of an algorithm.

I’m opting out. ✋

Grateful to see another year.
Learned. Failed. Got back up.

Being told your perspective doesn’t matter because you’re a “beginner” says more about the speaker than the field.

Science doesn’t reward ego forever. It rewards growth.

A Ghost of Genetics. This stunning white tiger, a recessive gene variant of the Bengal Tiger, is a marvel often seen only in zoos. A powerful sight with a complicated history. 🤍🐅

How does Kaggle score competition entries?
I ran my notebook locally with 5-fold CV and got an overall ROC-AUC of 0.75+, but the leaderboard score for the same model is around 0.69. I’m trying to understand how I lost 0.05+.

Can any ML expert please explain? Thanks.

🦒 Giraffe Thread:

A giraffe is a physics problem solved by biology: Taller than every other land animal, yet somehow stable, alive, and graceful. Let’s talk about why giraffes should not exist on paper, but absolutely do.

Every living species is a repository of billions of years of continuous writing, a living record of Earth’s long memory.

When we lose one, we sever a connection that can never be restored.

Conservation is the act of guarding the threads that bind life together.

Humans are extraordinary.
We build meaning out of chaos, face the unknown with nothing but instinct and imagination, and somehow create courage, purpose, and kindness in a world that often forgets these.

If the world feels dim, become the light you cannot find.

A deep learning framework for interconnected neural processing? Yeah, it is called a brain. Animals have had it for millions of years running their own GPUs, updates, and patch notes.
Nature is an amazing engineer.

Fun Fact Friday:

About 8 percent of the human genome comes from ancient viruses that infected our ancestors. These viral fossils became part of our DNA and have stayed there for millions of years.

I just uploaded my first machine learning model on Kaggle for the November challenge.
I’m currently ranked 1013, but that number doesn’t matter.
My goal is to improve the model for the lessons it holds, not for the leaderboard.

I started on Kaggle a week ago. It is the ultimate sandbox for anyone learning machine learning, from beginner to expert.
My goal is to sharpen my skills as a bioinformatician.

CRISPR-Cas9 lets scientists edit DNA with extreme precision.
In 2019, Harvard researchers used it to restore hearing in Beethoven mice by correcting a single mutation in the Tmc1 gene with no off-target effects.

Today, 2nd November, is the birthday of Kabosu. The dog that inspired the Doge meme and my motto of "Do Only Good Everyday."

I named my AI project Kabosu in her honor. The aim is to predict disease from multi-omics data obtained from the patient.

If you tried to type your genome at 60 words per minute, it would take about 50 years to finish.

That’s 3 billion letters of life’s code.
