I've been teaching for 2 days but this week feels like 2 yrs. I came to my Local for a drink & to read but I can't focus. I want to see a friend, talk to someone I ♥️, engage w/someone who knows me. But...no dice. I couldn't even finish the film I started last night. I don't feel like myself rn.

On my early nights (like tonight), I usually go to my local bar and do research and class prep. I'm just too drained so I'm spending tonight home with my cat. I just don't have the spoons to even work on my personal projects rn. I'm just at a loss. I feel really empty right now.

I don't often talk abt being Jewish bc I don't want to get into arguments. Ppl assume that I am anti-Gaza (FTR- I h8 genocide, & ALL forms of colonialism w/every fiber of my being) but I ♥️ my Jewish identity. It means a lot 2 me. So what hppnd in Sydney this wkd? I'm not ok. And NO ONE should be.

PSA: The Los Angeles County Library actually rents DVD players. And some NY State libraries offer a range of audiovisual equipment. The Brooklyn library lets you borrow on-site equipment to convert analog media to digital & it has an amateur recording studio.

FWIW, seeing THE SHINING on IMAX was aaaaaamazing. The sound? HFS. Wendy Carlos on 🔥! And everything was just so ❤️❤️❤️! I kept thinking about how much I love movies and how that keeps me alive in every way while I watched.

I love when my research gets extra exciting. I mean, I love what I’m doing so it’s ALL thrilling (n3rd alert) but I just got to this chunk that is so freaking cool.

Some time ago, I was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, Alport Syndrome, that is incurable and is causing my kidneys to fail. I need a kidney transplant, and I am searching for someone who might be able and willing to donate a kidney to me.

It's so hard when you're doing research on a larger project not to Fall Down the Rabbit Hole. I have fallen...HARD. I've decided I'm ok w/it bc I will need this info later on & there are SO MANY DETAILS my brain is not gonna grab them all. I just hope I can get the basic story. Please 🙏
