Le problème c'est que dans mon village par exemple on a que des petits candidats sans étiquette/centre droit (qui par ailleurs peuvent avoir des politiques locales pertinentes) 🥲

Même si je votais en fonction du Sénat et pas des enjeux locaux ça ne ferait pas avancer les choses

Yes, and networking doesn't mean only networking with clients and other translators! Everyone should know you're translating, even people who are unlikely to need a translation one day. Because they might one day know someone who someone who need someone... You never know!

Also: don't start as a freelancer right after graduating (unless you already have clients lined up). Start a full time job (even in an unrelated field), then once you have saved enough money get a part time job and go freelance

(learned this lesson the hard way)

When doing MTPE: whenever you see a mistake that is likely to appear more than once, immediately do a search & replace to fix it everywhere in the translation

Save a lot of time and then you can focus on other corrections!

«Pero no podéis estar quejándoos continuamente, al final os cansaréis y ganará la IA». Chache, llevo años entrenándome para esto. Puedo quejarme hasta dormido. Conozco las arcanas artes de Këji'Khoso, domino sus enseñanzas, soy capaz de quejarme a niveles subatómicos.

These people will act like translating おにぎり by "rice ball" is incredibly disrespectful towards Japanese culture because it dumbs down the source material or something

Which makes sense, as these grifters often don't speak a word of Japanese, don't know how translation works and see Japanese as this kind of sacred, mysterious, exotic language that can barely be captured by an English translation
