Looking specifically for a "dumbphone" (I hate that term, not sure how else to name them :( )

I literally only use my phone for texting and the occasional painful phonecall. For all the other stuff I have a laptop.

I did't have a Blackberry, but my last phone before I was forced into buying a smartphone had this amazing keyboard you accessed by pushing the display sideways and I just want that kind of functionality again omg.

The flip phone was $85 btw. And in a weird way it feels more futuristic than smartphones do?

Let's bring back dedicated (and offline) devices for different needs! I'll rock a flip phone, an mp3 player, an actual camera (if I need to take pics) with a lot more happiness than a truly unaffordable smartphone that I loathe.

It's a super fascinating history, within our own traditions as well! Because we have stories of horses before they came back via Europeans. But also stories of how dogs came to haul our belongings and guard our camps.

Fills the same relational niche. atim = dog, mistatim = big dog/horse. It's not that a horse looks like a dog, but rather, just like dogs, it carried our belongings and lived among us etc.

And if you don't have it in you to create quite yet, then access the creations of others.

I've been working on a document for a while, because new things keep coming up that I hadn't considered as "AI" before. Like, how I conduct research online, how I verify my work. To what extent is that using LLMs etc. It's been eye-opening.

Every time. But people will keep pushing back and offering advice because they genuinely care.

It was a new thing for the Hugo Awards to include the translator, and this definitely needs to become a thing more widely. I speak four languages but I could never be a translator - I am in awe of their work.

Readers are going to be looking for that kind of transparency as well.

I keep EVERYTHING. All my drafts. Stick it on an external hard drive. You can see my progress, and I track all changes. I want to be clear with myself, and be able to provide clarity to readers and publishers.
