The number of kids who read for fun at ages 6-8 decreases by *24 PERCENT* by the time those kids are 12-17. 😬 Lots of factors are at play, some of them systemic. But we ARE in control of one big factor: Which books we encourage (or even force) kids to read... 🧵 (1/14)

I'm appalled by what happened today. I called my reps and got a message about high call volumes from one. Couldn't even leave a message on another because their voicemail was full. I can only hope this means other constituents are just as outraged and are calling to let them know.
