Stephen King was very ahead of the curve with Storm of the Century in that he made a screenplay that only needed to be two parts into three to the detriment of all pacing and plot, just like The Hobbit trilogy that should have only been two parts.

The salt they put on pretzels is by far the worst thing people do to them other than pretzel sticks which are also an insult to pretzels. But at least those are good.

The fact that every computer I've ever used with native Bluetooth, iPads, and the Switch can all handle wireless controllers infinitely better than the docked steam deck can is deeply embarrassing from Valve. Is this a Linux issue or is the steam deck a bad product?

A huge pet peeve of mine that probably is from me having preconceived notions of a genre space is when people call art of guys who are twunks at best "Bara". Like I'm sorry but if your Lycaon art is on model it's not worthy of a bara tag.

Not about anyone I've reskeeted ever but it is a shame to see an artist go thru an RCDart-esque "getting worse at art by making really bad stylistic choices but intentionally"

The thing about Stephen King books is that across them and even within an individual book you get some of the best and worst writing you will find, which makes anything of his that is good have to have a lot of qualifiers and a "okay so theres a few sentences you're gonna have to just get past"

Storm of the Century isnt great, but, it does play into my "71% of King is at least somewhat about Vietnam" approach to reading him. It's no Hearts in Atlantis but it is "We're just gonna pretend we didn't agree to sacrifice our kids to a demon and try to live with that fact".

Thinking about I Saw The TV Glow also gets me thinking too much about the game of EIDOLON I've been running and the levels of disconnect between what I've thought about this game and characters and what I've been able to do with it. It's entering the "Just write a book" territory.

Coming out of the kinda fugue state of the past 6 years of getting a PhD, the struggling to understand and become myself is crushing. I am crushed by the anticipation of the dirt above my casket. My grave gets filled in more each year, and in delaying myself I fear I missed the chance to become me.

TV Glow really is an all timer. Need more movies that run the gamut of corny, earnest, and bleak at once. So much to process and digest in this movie. Despite being extremely overtly about gender and transness, the premise is also one easily resonant to a broader audience.

I think fighting skeletons is a decent litmus test for if a TTRPGs combat is boring shit or good. If your skeleton fight is a slog of people doing 0-0.5x damage for 10 turns, it's probably bad.
