I think fighting skeletons is a decent litmus test for if a TTRPGs combat is boring shit or good. If your skeleton fight is a slog of people doing 0-0.5x damage for 10 turns, it's probably bad.

My deepest sympathies go out to scientists studying unicellular eukaryotes. You might run into some bastard who just doesn't have stop codons. Maybe an asshole who decided to make a normal codon a stop one. That said I need to learn more about these little guys bc like. How the fuck.

Homology based approaches help mitigate issues present with annotation in the face of slight differences in genetic codes but I have to wonder if more annotation programs should have parameters to make sure you select which codon table you are using for AA translation.

I don't like to shame organisms for their innovations. Life happens beautifully in many ways, including parasites we might find undesirable. However, I cannot tolerate that there's a species of ciliate that only has one viable stop codon and even then it sometimes is still an amino acid. Heinous...

Its actually a little fucked up that O and U are not any of the amino acids. We got W before O? For fucking TryptOphan??? GlUtamine is goddamn Q???? What are we doing here. Also why the fuck is Lysine K? B and J are both unused letters before K and make just as much sense???
