I have an astigmatism but I try not to brag about it. (He/him)

Chicago but I'll always be an insufferable Texan
"Now that Diane Ladd has died, none of the in-laws from 'Christmas Vacation' are alive anymore," I say flirtatiously to strangers at the bar.

That Paul McCartney went so far as to buy the rights to this documentary and take it out of circulation in favor of a separate “approved” documentary project just shows how intense that need for image management and control is, and ~that~ is why so many celebrity docs suck right now

One of my favorite holiday activities is using Google's song search to see if the Hallmark Christmas movie songs are full length tunes or just 45-second fever dreams.

Or, and hear me out, if I go out of my way to see something in the theater it's probably 'cause I think I'll like it. And if I wait to see it at home it's because I think the odds of me liking it are lower...
Oh my god. She's 1000% right. This makes so much sense.

What happens when you pick an American Pope: he builds an entire international trip around a Thanksgiving Turkey pun
Pope Leo XIV embarked on his first international trip as pontiff on Thursday, traveling to Turkey to start a six-day tour that will also include Lebanon. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/27/w...

We're long overdue for the first Hallmark Christmas movie with full frontal nudity.

It's my annual duty to remind you that "Basted In Blood" belongs in the holiday canon and is the only true Thanksgiving song.

Have I liked either of the first two Knives Out films? No.

Will I watch the third one in the theater? Yes.

Why? Because Chicago Pope told me I have to same cinema.

The only time I ever see ads is when watching TV while visiting my folks during the holidays. We basically watch cheesy Christmas movies and sitcom reruns. 75% of ads are "You're about to die so here's how to be less of a burden." The other 25% are "Buy into this scam."

I'm not as high on this movie as others are*, but Wagner Moura is fantastic and might be my favorite actor of the year.

*I think most of it is good-to-very good but have major issues with the final act.
"Once in a while, you see a movie that doesn’t feel made, but extracted from a dreaming mind. It won’t go to you and hand over its meanings. You have to go to it." I reviewed The Secret Agent, my favorite film of 2025. Haunting, beautiful, profound. www.rogerebert.com/reviews/the-...
