It Couldn't Have Been Just About Gay Rocks - ANoN, 2025

I work on a comic called PARANOiD, with Mikii. It's about a bunch of angsty teens snarking their way through a world of horror.

I love Horror Movies, Comics, and Misery.

If it's anything, Tarantino, flaws and all, typically writes women with internal lives in their films and has them actively pursue goals and ideals without debasing them as ultimately seeking male centering in their lives, even in the romantic Jackie Brown.

If you wanna see a misogynists film....

I cannot fucking wait for other diliapated franchises to get used by this administration. Fuck it, Put Charles Bronson in an ICE recruitment ad. Let's get real fucking awful with it already, just so the fence sitters have to get off.
DOJ's newest recruitment ad features Judge Dredd, the comic satire about the dangers of lawless policing and authoritarian power

The value of subversion is in how it says something about you, the audience, and how you see something.

It's practically worthless to pull a twist as a surprise. Its incredibly worthwhile to have the audience prepare for a twist to make sure they're paying attention.
This is a huge lesson for many writers to learn.

A twist works well because it thrives on negative space and fair play: the narrative gave you everything you needed to figure out the truth, but -knew- you might not, and so if you fail to guess, you're told something about your own judgement.
Viewers/readers/players anticipating your plot twists in advance is GOOD ACTUALLY.

YOU DID A GOOD JOB WHY WOULD YOU RUIN IT. YOUR JOB ISN'T TO OUTSMART YOUR AUDIENCE. UNGUESSABLE PLOT TWISTS ARE BAD TWISTS.

sorry for the yelling but holy shit

It's so funny having a gorgon as an enforcer. "Mel, give her kidney stones."

I suggest getting back on base; if the Internet catches you with that opinion before you're on base, the other team will score a point.

It just occurred to me the writer and the sailor in "Piano Man" are gay

I think the moment Cyberpunk failed as a genre or aesthetic or whatever was when the exact people who it pointed to as the problem read it, and decided they'd be the cool guys in the setting.

At some point you have to realize that it was the people you spent it with, not the motions of the season. Take it from someone who had a very, very unhappy childhood *except* for time with my grandmother.
Because you're an adult you fucking muppet. You gotta pay the magic forward.

My favorite item in my steam library is a copy of "Let's Ruin It With Babies", a 2013 film I have not seen but shove into transactions with my friends to annoy them.

the best stories are always in conversation with the previous ones; it means they are seeking to understand and engage with the other work, not simply repeat back at them what they said, but remixed

When i see people complain about convenience in writing...

I just want to interrupt them the next time they talk about their day, and glare at them, whispering "How Convenient..." anytime something mildly fortunate happens.

It's so weird to see an 80s slasher where the survivors immediately arm themselves.

The most interesting part of tobe hooper as a director is how he films his psychopathic murder families with the same interest as he films their victims.

My co-creator and I are working on our first webcomic, “The Arrangement” about two vampires in an odd couple/queer romantic situation in the 1920s.
The first arc is written and edited, multiple chapters thumbnailed and our first chapter is currently being released online. We’re learning as we go.

The reason why you don't see Chestnuts on an open fire anymore is because they taste like BURNT SADNESS.

I've never felt more like a poor victorian childe eating something.

There's nothing that a monster and a piece of cheese on toast and two painkillers and a screwdriver to the neck can't fix.
