Haitians in Springfield, Ohio lose temporary protected status on February 3rd. There will very likely be a major ICE incursion the next day. Haitians in Springfield were the targets of Vance’s lying during the campaign.

'The folks are fearful.' Haitians living in Ohio may soon lose temporary protected status • Ohio Capital Journal
Thousands of Haitians living in Ohio will lose their temporary protected status next week unless a federal court blocks it.

This.
You are so right. If this nation cared at all about the lives of Black people none of what is happening right fucking now, would be happening. Now they all get see and know what we have tolerated for 400 years.

I was just thinking this. If you've got a license for a weapon, ICE sees it while wrestling you to the ground and smacking you upside the head multiple times, does that justify them shooting you in the head multiple times even if you haven't touched it and possibly have told them about it? /sarc
Reminder: after Charles Exum shot Marimar Martinez in October, DHS tried to claim it was because she was armed.

The gun never left her purse and she had a concealed carry license for it.
This is apparently on X. I have a few concerns: 1) why is DHS sending photos of (alleged) evidence that should be in a secure chain of custody that is now lying on a car seat??? and 2) being armed does not on its own justify the use of deadly force — there has to be evidence he was trying to use it

Good advice - I accidentally watched and do not want to again. Sickening (literally).

Note that the other agents at least knew the shooting was wrong, all ran away. Not so much the beating part, that, evidently, was O.K.

If you had any thoughts that the Republicans in Congress were going to be the ones to rescue the U.S. from the Trump insanity, watching the insanity of the Jack Smith "hearings" will eliminate that. They are not going to back down from their Trumpmania no matter what.
January 22, 2026 at 7:13 PM
Jack Smith isn't someone who is gifted with a dramatic presentation - he doesn't do well when answering the politicians who are loud and know how to make their questions zing. He's so quiet and ordinary compared to their staged productions. And those viewing them are used to soap operas.
January 22, 2026 at 3:42 PM
Jim Jordan's opening really demonstrates where this "investigation" is intended to go. To make it clear thatJack Smith is the enemy of the current administration, not to let him testify on what he found. Already sickening, not even 10 minutes in.

Why am I surprised?

I love scientific minded nerds like Hank Green. I've watched and listened to him before. His arguments make good sense, good, kind sense. I think instead of arguing on-line with the fools who won't believe the truth (it's a waste of time) we should give them a link to this, then block them.

I’m seeing lots of people on here misunderstand the purpose of ICE watch.

It’s de-escalation. And it’s grounded in the social science of violence. 🧵

I'm sure they used the same trustworthy doctor who said the President was the healthiest individual ever elected as president.
I guess they can show us the medical records then.

I broke the story yesterday that masked ICE agents (not DOJ) were removing items including a personal computer from the home of Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who shot Renee Good. I have yet to see a single news outlet cover this or an elected official even acknowledge it.
NEW: These are ICE agents removing evidence from the shooter's home. They are not DOJ, they are Jonathan Ross's friends and coworkers, not DOJ.

This agent removing Ross's personal computer was reported yesterday Jan 9 for boxing in a volunteer and telling them "I'll dedicate my next arrest to you"

Anti-ICE protesters are having a rolling noise demo and protest in downtown Minneapolis targeting hotels where federal agents are reportedly staying -- starting at the Canopy by Hilton and going to the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel. Police have just arrived as we are posting this.

I'm pretty sure ICE doesn't have the authority to arrest someone for following them. Unless maybe they're an undocumented immigrant they have a warrant for.
Minneapolis - Border Patrol stops a protester following them, and tells the car it’s their “first and final warning” to quit.

Is there a department for that yet?
they are already turning this into a "debate" and an excuse to scold the left

A woman is dead in Minneapolis after ICE agents opened fire.
I don’t need to be a use-of-force expert to say this plainly: she did not need to be shot.
And no fair investigation is coming from the same system that wanted this confrontation in the first place.

if people looked back to see what I was responding to. The OP-er pointed out how there's special legal treatment cops get after murdering an unarmed (protester) civilian. My point was that Michelle Good's murderer shouldn't get that (unfair) treatment because he's a thug, not a cop.
regardless of training, police form violent and adversarial relationships with protesters
