Institutionalised psychological abuse - an integral aspect of a system that blames individuals for govt choice to maintain unemployment
Despite two damning ombudsman investigations, this Department has learnt nothing.

The fact that people regularly overturn unlawful suspensions of their payment does not justify unlawfully suspending their payment. It's incredible that this still needs to be pointed out

"Verdant will attempt to bridge the distance between party members who favor radical socialist reform, and those who recognise the UK’s [[here it comes...]] dependence on international investors for its debt-financing requirements and want to swing left while keeping bond markets on-side."
James Meadway--a progressive but still neoclassical & deficit-skittish economist--is helping to found a new think tank adjacent to the rising UK Green Party, in part to delegitimize the growing influence of MMT in the party. Here's hoping @zackpolanski.bsky.social holds onto the MMT paradigm.

Looks like the main concession gained by the Greens was Labor "agreed to subject native forest logging to national environment standards in 18 months’ time". But, no "climate trigger, too much ministerial discretion, use of rubbish offsets.
📢 After decades of pressure to fix Australia’s ailing nature laws, the Albanese government has struck a deal with the Greens to amend them.

The reforms will increase scrutiny of logging & land clearing—and finally remove key #deforestation loopholes. #auspol
