politicians pushing this are like "now kids can go out and play sport" there is no corresponding reduction in fees for organised sport, or public transport, or making parks safe, someone was stabbed in a park near me this week - they want kids outside, but havent done anything to encourage it
So sadly, he is correct. To exclude SOME children from a major aspect of our current social interaction, rather than ban AI-slop, will have a negative impact that will haunt us for generations. In particular, they will be over exposed to legacy media. #auspol
South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskus admits there will be problems with the teen social media ban, suggesting tech companies have an “extraordinarily large, material interest in this not going well".

when i found out that julie inman grant was offered a job by the CIA - and you dont get that far unless youve been vetted and approved - the all-ages-verification suddenly made sense
Excellent discussion. Very informative. I really think this is the worst bill this #federal #parliament has passed. The impact on everyone, if it is not stopped by the courts, will be horrendous. #auspol
Thanks for that! I also discovered that Anne Twomey also has a YouTube channel covering this kind of stuff...

It wasnt our enviro laws that were too weak to protect the Skate or stop the North West Shelf, it was our Ministers.

Thats why Labor is trying to get the Coalition to help them water them down…to save Enviro Ministers the embarrassment of always saying yes #climate

It wasn’t the laws that were too weak to stop those projects, it was the ministers
The Prime Minister is betting that by 2028 people will forget the North West Shelf and EPBC backflips, but it would be a brave backbencher willing to make that same bet.
