GOP House hard-liners won’t compromise. They’re losing key fights because of it.
House hard-liners seek ideological purity even though they’re part of divided government. They’re losing key policy fights as a result.

It’s these bigoted assholes taking the fact that *they* don’t know or understand something and extrapolating that feeling to the people who *do* know and understand, because they can’t conceive of a scenario that is both true and beyond the scope of their limited comprehension

To be abundantly clear, the @nytimes.com has decided to platform anti-trans bigots, not to present both sides of a debate (because whether trans people exist and have human rights is not a valid point of debate - they do. The end.), but because they think those bigots are correct.

I love it when the NY Fucking Times questions the validity of my son’s existence pretty much every fucking day. And this has stopped being part of their weird commitment to platforming both sides of issues where one side is true and the other is not. They just want trans people to die.
Alongside Pamela Paul's anti-trans garbage this morning they also published a bizarre editor's note going, 'wow makes u think.' They publish this stuff because they believe it.

I love it when the NY Fucking Times questions the validity of my son’s existence pretty much every fucking day. And this has stopped being part of their weird commitment to platforming both sides of issues where one side is true and the other is not. They just want trans people to die.
Once upon a time, someone decided that calling a thing “most awarded” should mean it has RECEIVED the most awards instead of being the most received AS an award, and that is when civilization’s decline became irreversible.

If you aren’t aware of this bit of horror, know it’s just the latest in a slew of attacks on trans people’s right to exist. It’s a crisis that cis folks (of which I am one) are too ignorant and too quiet about, and we all need to do better so our trans brethren aren’t fighting for their lives alone

I’m extremely tired and at about 60% capacity, which I can probably maintain for the day. Or, I could go get a coffee and get to, like, 80% capacity for an hour or so, and then crash to 30% until I lose consciousness. I will now ruminate on this problem until I realize I’m already driving home.
