In all seriousness: what the hell is he talking about?

And how is he still the president and not just some loudmouth golfer?
“To Leonard Leo, Koch, and all of the Countries and Slimeballs that have ripped off the United States of America for years through the use of their own Tariffs, we don't have a Court System that's going to let you destroy our Country any longer.”

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

A must-read from @thelocal.to. Share widely.

I could quote much from this piece, but let's go with this:

"Is that story written by AI? It’s impossible to know and, frankly, impossible to say if it even matters."

A suspicious pitch from a freelancer led editor Nicholas Hune-Brown to dig into their past work. By the end, four publications, including The Guardian and Dwell, had removed articles from their sites.

The national debt is higher.

The trade deficit is wider.

The inflation rate has worsened.

The unemployment rate is up.

The military service drafted a new policy that classifies them as “potentially divisive.”

The bubble is Venn but for disasters
So if AI succeeds loads of people lose their jobs as they're replaced by AI, and if AI fails, loads of people lose their jobs as the economy crashes?
It’s amazing how this story has gone from 0 to 60 in UK press. There’s been no mainstream coverage to date but this morning the story is leading BBC News site & bulletins.

This piece is interesting and very much worth reading.
That said, it still makes assumptions that I think illustrate a key paradox with AI and art. At the core, writing and art is about personality. And you end up having to define "personality" itself. Can you really give a machine "personality"?

Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.

Also, this.
Trump urges House to vote to do something he could do in an instant without a House vote. He is obviously playing a game. Reporters should ask, “Why don’t you simply order the Epstein files released yourself?”

⬇️ This ⬇️

If DJT actually had nothing to do with Epstein’s depraved, evil predatory behavior, he could/would have forcefully and repeatedly denounced it. Don’t listen to what he says, but what he *doesn’t* say.
Trump, an image obsessed lifelong public figure who has proven he would say anything to defend himself, has never once condemned pedophilia, the abuse of young girls or even made a show of seeking justice for abused women. Rather, he defends and socializes with predators.

The move comes after Microsoft revoked ICC head Karim Khan’s email access when he was sanctioned by the US for the warrant against Netanyahu.
