I have learned recently that I do in fact have free will and agency in my life, and therefore if I see Cory Doctorow show up as the guest on a podcast in my little podcast list, I can just delete it rather than listen to it

Over the holidays my family and I sent in our applications for proof of Canadian citizenship (via my dad's grandma) and we just got our AORs 🥳

Just so everyone knows, one of the few trials of a communist official after the overthrow in Eastern Europe had a sentence of four years for using a water cannon and tear gas on students. Different standards, I guess.

I can tell the AI discourse is busted because it's been what, three years since ChatGPT and only *now* am I seeing a piece on AI that uses the word "lacunae"?

Judge Biery signed the order with a photo of Liam and two bible verses: The first is "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The second is simply "Jesus wept."

Astonishing thing for a judge to do.

There’s a thesis somewhere in the linguistic choices of the myriad “as a small business of immigrants we are open today but-“ posts

I’m sorry but what do you mean “manage reminders” The point of the reminders is to remind you to DO A THING. If you are not, you yourself, specifically, you the human, interacting with the reminders then THERE IS NO REASON FOR THEM TO EXIST

I have no doubt EllisonTok will become scandalously censorious at some point...... but as someone who literally technically project managed divestitures in the past, the kinds of errors people are reporting make a lot of sense as being incompetence > malice

It is so impressive how fully useless ChatGPT deep research is (at least on the free level, I guess.) Universally provides zero insight beyond what a basic good search would. I suppose it technically "saves" me.... 10 minutes? Maybe 15-20 if I'm being generous?
