Totally correct. But a big reason is the impossibility of a series where all characters (& their actors) blink out every episode or 2 because of mortality & individual irrelevance in the galactic sweep of history. So you get cryogenic sleep, Cleonic clones, & Seldon versions. Ingenious but different
