Buy less, buy things that last, ideally used, put effort into caring for them, mending and repairing. In the long run it will be cheaper financially and environmentally.

If corporations can’t adapt to more environmental consumption then by capitalist rule they shouldn’t be around 🤷🏻‍♀️
It's not just "consumer smart" it reduces environmental waste, key materials are often mined in slave conditions. The whole tenor of the article is wrong - why is the economy so dependent on us engaging in mass waste?

Not surprising that a platform designed to be addictive damages mental health in youth.

Media literacy units in school should include info on the harm caused by FB and other SM, instead a lot of schools push for engagement.

Now add AI to this toxic mix 🫠
Meta halted internal research that purportedly showed (young) people who stopped using Facebook became less depressed and anxious, according to an unredacted legal filing released on Friday. www.cnbc.com/2025/11/23/m...

Shockingly the CBC article has no mention of the virus that surfaced 5 years ago and impacts on the brain and mental health.

Nothing to see here, because we still refuse to clean the air in schools

Re: TDSB specialized program admission

Meanwhile the TDSB switched back to merit based admissions for specialized programs leaving 10-13yo less than 6 percent weeks to prepare for test, audition or portfolio.

When asked about the unnecessary stress, numerous TDSB staff said: everyone is dealing with the same 🫠
Good grief: cancelling the Ontario Bar exams in part because “the process can be stressful”?
Heaven protect people now to be represented in court by snowflakes.

You got to be a massive asshole to accuse 🇨🇦 of lying by telling a lie.

POTUS is so detached from reality, that I’m literally defending a DoFo add here 🙃
Here’s the original clip of Ronald Reagan from April 25, 1987, where he delivered a complete and total rebuke against tariffs. Trump's calling Reagan’s words here “FAKE” and “fraudulent.” They’re 100% real. And the original clip is actually far worse for Trump, as much is left out of the ad:

The government who brought you a 14+ year Crosstown LRT project has decided yesterday that giving 13yos 21 days to put together an application to specialized programs is reasonable.

Anyone here think Ford, Calandra or Rohit Gupta could deliver a portfolio in 3 weeks?

Toronto, good news! Next year you’ll get another chance to say a big NOPE 👎 to this self centred politician, who for years has chosen to ignore constituents’ emails and calls.

Last time he got 1.2% of the vote, let’s aim to lower it further!!!

I am able to maintain clean air in my home and work space. This had a huge positive impact on my family’s health, both protecting us from COVID for the last 5 years, but also in managing the effects wild fire smoke of the last few summers.

Why can’t we have this in workspace and schools?
My 3 imperatives from the UN event on indoor air.
We must...
1. Recognize indoor health is fundamental to human health
2. Recommit to ventilation / filtration not just as a technical standard for minimally acceptable conditions, but as a cornerstone of public health
3. Require indoor air monitoring

“AI” isn’t a tool or technology or even a cluster of technologies with a misleading name. It’s the infrastructure at the foundation of a form of capitalism dependent on data brokering. We should be teaching our students about this and not teaching them about “responsible” use.

This morning driver failed to stop at 🛑 in front of a school, didn’t have their licence on them, cop let them off with a warning.
No transit user or cyclist would get this lenient a treatment ever, though their crime doesn’t usually endanger school aged kids 🤷🏻‍♀️
Because funneling subway riders into fare inspections is okay, but speed cameras to make roads safer is not.

For the record, I’m fine with BOTH speed cameras and fare inspections. We need actionable policies for city life that keep municipal infrastructure and systems working and safe.

I spent a week in Iceland recently, it was amazing, but the think that absolutely blew my mind was the co2 readings inside their busy buildings.

We need clean energy to have clean air! Covid and climate action are forever linked and our children’s future depends on it.
