Happy New Year, I enjoyed the art I finished in 2025! I do wish that I had been able to finish more full pieces and share more about the projects I'm in the middle of, but I'm hoping that I can do a lot of that this year in 2026!

I'm going to try 24-Hour Comic Day again this year! Last year I didn't prepare very well. I got to page 12 and then fell asleep before the 24 hours were up loll, so I'm hoping I'll get farther this year!

I identify as agender/nonbinary now with they/them pronouns Happy International Non-Binary People's Day, I wanna talk about it! (and demisexual but honestly that's a whole other conversation I'll explore another time) While agender can be interpreted in different ways depending on the person, it means to me that under the umbrella of nonbinary (outside the gender binary) I feel genderless. After seeing the president of the United States go up on a stage live and say it will be a policy of the US to only have two genders I realized I couldn't bring myself to wait four more years for the next president to tell anyone and just came out to everyone a couple days afterward. Most of my exposure to trans people growing up were caricatures online showing them as ugly, loud, and mean people who were confusing and I didn't want to see myself in. Even in positive depictions of trans people, it was usually in the context of changing yourself within the gender binary and described as “in the wrong body” or “I had always known and liked boys/girls things better,” which are valid experiences but not ones I could relate to at all. Especially since I was very much considered a "girly girl" by most people around me growing up. I had never consciously thought about it before, but my feelings were hiding behind a huge build-up, a giant dam in the back of my head. Once it broke it was all I could think about. For multiple years after this, I did increasingly embarrassing things to "make sure" I was cis including asking every single person I knew if they had thought about being the other gender and taking multiple "am I trans" quizzes online. My wonderful friends were too supportive and told me that only I could decide if I was cis or not and that no one could tell me who or what I was. Which was amazing but drove me crazy! Ironically now that I've accepted it it doesn't haunt my thoughts constantly anymore and I'm at peace.
