Sorry, but the IPCC has also been deeply swayed by industry, even in terms of vastly overindexing on CCS and CDR literature versus any other sort of solution. CCS & CDR make sense *after* we decarbonize in the obvious ways; I've yet to see a convincing argument for deploying it at scale before then

Actually Colombia is spearheading that effort. They're co-hosting, with the Netherlands, a conference next year to start mapping fossil phaseout, along with the 20+ other countries that pushed for it at COP. Vamos a ver!

They've been doing it for years. Or at least since COP26 when the US collaborated with the Saudis on "Mission Innovation" to catalyze the CDR that was supposed to deal with emissions without requiring phaseout...
