Realizing now it was an unspoken running gag on B:TAS that the “presumed dead” defeats of villains never stuck and they always came back with no explanation how and we just accepted it. This one… I’d like to know how Joker survived it!

He moved on to video games. Which could be implied in Toy Story 2 with the Buzz game that Rex gets obsessed with. I remember the “big thing” on my Xmas list switching from a Transformer to video games over the years.

That’s how the version on Prime was anyway. I tracked down the broadcast version you guys used and yeah, definitely a highway back there! Just funny that’s a detail you pointed out but it’s only on the 4:3 version!

Just caught up with this ep & it inspired me to watch the movie for the 1st time! (‘Tis the season!) Interesting tidbit, you mention the last scene with the highway in the background. Well this must’ve been filmed “open matte”, in the widescreen version there is no highway! No ground! Just blue sky!
