I think it would help society as a whole if education about dementia and how to work with those that suffer from it was more prevalent.
I feel like people want to pretend it doesnt exist, and when the time comes they have no tools to deal with it.

Especially for people who live with dementia, there’s so many people that tell their parents, “No mom you retired 30 years ago.” When really they should just be telling her something else like, “Mom you’re on vacation.” or “It’s your day off today.”
Thank you for saying this. I wish more people understood how hard this was. I wish there were more resources and education surrounding this stage in life. Its not easy, and it never will be, but we think if people understood more, things could be better.

And please try and visit your loved ones whenever you can, I hate to be that guy but being told my a patient that they wish I was their son is a little heart breaking.
