I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

At times I feel like I am stuck in this weird time loop. Kid!Me found out about executive meddling when he was 11. He was very annoyed about it. And ever since I have had the discussion a thousand times of people outside the industry not believing how bad it is.

Okay. I am reading through how to put in EU petitions, given that so far there has not been an EU petition about the entire "payment processors try to censor stuff" affair. And I will openly admit. So far I only ever once put in a petition and that was for Germany. But this feels like an EU problem.

I feel like a lot of people working with fantasy settings that are pre-modern or generally historical settings do overestimate traveling speeds. Especially once armies start moving. Armies move slowly.
