Indeed. My main problem is living some distance from where my ancestors lived, so getting to the relevant archives is difficult. I’m hoping to visit Kew in January, and I already have a long list.

I’m keeping a close watch on the rollout of the 1910 Valuation Survey. I used the Dorset records to find where my great-grandmother lived in a small village in Dorset - and visited it back in March. When Gloucestershire comes out I’ll be very busy!

Great news! I’ve never had a breakthrough from uploading my Ancestry results to My Heritage or to FTDNA. And I did those uploads 8 years ago.

I love being able to pinpoint a specific location. The vast majority of my ancestors lived in rural places, and it’s rare I can stick a pin in a map.

I feel it was one of those Sunday afternoon programmes that was good enough to justify *having tea in the lounge*. (Having any meal in front of the TV was a no-no in our house, with limited exceptions.) 😉

Being English and Church of England I’ve made my Christmas pudding on #StirUpSunday for many years. It’s more than a bit ironic that I need to miss going to church to fit it into my day!

1987 was my first year at university, and a very good-looking man whisked me onto the dance floor as it was played. I never saw him again, but I still cherish the moment. It was incredibly romantic, but so fleeting.

The pudding bowl is an old Cornishware one. The glaze has crackled a bit over the years, but it still takes a long steaming in its stride.

I love this recipe; with butter and breadcrumbs it’s not too heavy. It has the fresh fruit flavours of apple and lemon, together with the dark dried fruits of prunes and raisins.

Yesterday was full-on with studying, then we were out for the evening at friends.

In the new Indices of Deprivation the borough of TW as a whole is in the lowest 10% in England. But go down to the LSOAs and you will find that parts of High Brooms and Showfields estate are in the 9th most deprived decile.

I’ll listen to the podcast and see if there’s more context, but the write up is poor.

I’m in Tunbridge Wells. We have the Dairy in St John’s Road and now the Beckett too, which looks more like an office block than a residential building. And then there’s the monstrosity going up on the old cinema site in the town centre.

Absolutely! He’s only small and not in a prominent position, but he’s such a happy chappy!
