Difficult question. Machine learning has been around since the 50s to provide tools and ease of use in ways we just generally accept today. Like most photos we take are processed pretty heavily using ML anyways so it’s down to how comfortable you are with distorting reality further?

I do not see GenAI and artists as mutually exclusive. i do recommend people host their own LLMs at home so they don't have to agree to "terms". But what do I mean? Many artists take photos of landscapes and paint off the photo instead of sitting outdoors on site. Gen AI art: paint it! 1 example
