They are trying to whip people into a frenzy, in the hopes that someone will do something violent, or we’ll riot, and give them an excuse. It’s not a coincidence that JD Vance is coming tomorrow. Again, every journalist on the ground knows this, but we’ll see if their editors will let them say it.

I wish, I hope upon all the stars that we live. I pray (from the psalms, from revelation, from the words Robert Oppenheimer quoted of the Bhagavad Gita upon the test of the atom bomb, from poets whispering of filled hearts and screaming of old injuries) that we live.
We tried.

I'd like to live, if possible.

Empires rise and fall. America should, too, and it will, but maybe I'm selfish for hoping it can be done without a heaped up pile of Black, Brown, Queer, Jewish, Muslim, Native, Asian, Disabled people who always did the work to try to fix the broken parts.

When you blame "The South" you're also laying blame on the doorsteps of MANY gerrymandered Black Americans who have shown up for democrats in droves. And are being thrown in ICE vans because they have melanin.

People who were actually enslaved believed that chattel slavery would end one day.

I'm sorry but to me that suggests that you [who are not enslaved in 2026] can also imagine an end to the current horrors.

like i know this is not new, but in the current geopolitical moment I cant think of anything more important to our collective safety than the integrity of the current vp, a man whom writes tall taleish memoirs about his ancestral home town for people from away to pity.

and on Vance someone said they thought he said something treasonous during the campaign.

Surely they cant be talking about this bit on a podcast about certifying the 2020 election because everybody heard that. Everybody talked about it. Anybody got any guesses.

Vance would have asked for new electors instead of certifying 2020 election results
Trump’s current running mate said Pence “could have done more.”

Do not donate to the DFL. Donate to a GoFundMe for rent or immigration fees, donate to a food shelf — use your dollars to help the community, not the state party apparatus. The DFL isn’t gonna save us from ICE. We are all we have
So friends, I launched a campaign to raise money for the Democratic Party of Minnesota (@dfl.org) to help them combat ICE's lawless assault. MN Dem Party Chair Richard Carlbom joined me for the kickoff. Learn more, donate, and let's rally for the courageous people of Minnesota, together! 👇

Apparently white supremacists aren’t willing to actually show their faces in the streets.
Fewer people turned out for the chudfesr than kids per house trick-or-treating in Mpls in ‘91?

This is just the beginning of something beyond us. What we do here in Minneapolis in this moment will shape the course of our resistance.

We, ourselves, may not get to see the other side of what’s to come. But I do know it ends with us winning.

We are giving life to a brighter future here tonite

On December 30, 1975, Minneapolis became the first city to adopt a trans-inclusive LGBTQ+ non-discrimination ordinance. Fifty years later, the U.S. still lacks similar protections on a federal level. https://bit.ly/4aAEWLF
50 years ago, Minneapolis redefined LGBTQ+ rights
On December 30, 1975, just before the New Year, the city council passed trans-inclusive protections unlike anything the U.S. has been able to achieve.

the oppression of children runs so deep in our society that one of the primary ways that we disempower people is by assigning them child-adjacent status as adults. license to abuse flows from that

Elon Musk is getting a $1 TRILLION pay package from Tesla.

If he worked 40 hr/week, he'd be making $50 million PER HOUR.

That is a truly unfathomable amount of money -- it could end hunger, fund life-changing research, & save countless lives.

Instead, it's going to Elon Musk.

typical human problems. I have been waking up human, with a left foot that still hurts, and resolved, I hope I’ll never wake up again wondering if I am dead.

Being human is hard. And no matter how much chamomile tea I drink this remains ever true.
It is almost 6 o’clock in the morning here and I just woke up angry.
But I don’t know why I’m angry and I don’t know what I’m angry about. It must have been something that I had dreamt, but I don’t remember.
Have you ever tried that?
I better brew some great coffee before making contact with anyone
