If people are not safe in their own country, not feeling safe but actually safe from violence, then that country has failed its people.

Just a quick 10 minute sonnet I wrote to conclude a fun competition I was running to encourage people to get involved in a bit of poetry - the theme was the commute and the quality of those who took up the challenge was very impressive.

Friday night, I delivered my poem called, 'Estate Cars' which uses an introduction of asking why some cars are called, 'estates' and then moves into a social commentary about dispossession, gentrification, and state assets and services being sold for backhanders.
The poem is actually about ADHD.

I am looking for a UK publisher for my book of hard-hitting transgender poetry exploring the culture war; its actors and consequences (sample included in this post). My work is raw. It is upsetting, it is sometimes funny, prophetic, and many are real life stories of the horror of actual events.

This morning I stumbled on this short film called La Derniere Lettre (The Last Letter) and it has instantly become one of the best films that I have seen...

When you fall off a cliff, it is easy to look down upon those below you and imagine you are flying. But pissing on the people below you and calling it rain won't do anything to stop the fall.

If I am ever in London again, and have the opportunity, I would like to retake this photo I took on my last visit to the capital; to make it more obvious what I am trying to capture (despite the use of colour). This is one, if not possibly the most, underrated photo that I have taken.

Last year, I was asked by my friend Cat Bell to write a poem about a shopping trolley to be part of her exhibition of photographs of abandoned shopping trolleys, a bit of quirky fun.
Last night, I went to the opening night for the exhibition at the Forum cinema café in Hexham. It was really good.

End of year walk to Hareshaw Linn in Northumberland and took the opportunity to experiment with my phone's advance camera settings to snap some shots of the waterfalls.

There are two people in my life who are feeling loss this Christmas, and last night I wrote this lament for them.

Just because it is Christmas, doesn't mean that you have to be cheerful, it can be a painful time for some and it is okay to be sad and feel grief.
