Oh yeah I totally had one of my character's hair turn permanently white so I could make some important, story-driven plot point have physical consequences. There's no way I did it just because I think it would be cute!

He let them file in, ants to his stature. Their Kevlar armor jackets were paper to his teeth and claws. Their guns were inconveniences at best; even their fifty caliber rifles were a mere hindrance at this range. They set a... ... perimeter, establishing the illusion of control. Rudy watched in the shadows, a silent prayer to Flidais for stealth as he held his breath. Then, as every back was turned away from him, he struck. The first guard barely had time to scream before Rudy’s maw clamped down around his neck. He spit the metallic taste from his muzzle, fighting the urge to gag as an oval-shaped object passed between his teeth and plopped onto the ground with a wet noise. This was war. People died in war. He steeled his nerves against his morals for the time being. They would kill him if given the chance. His job was to rid them of that chance. The second guard went down just as quickly, head rolling out of his mouth as the other six ran for cover against the titan before them, hoping to take him down at range. That wasn’t happening.

Character Map: John Doe Core Identity: The Pragmatic Survivor. A 14-year-old transmasc child who chooses the name "John Doe" as an act of radical anonymity and self-creation after a life of being defined by loss and the system. Layer/Description/Manifestation The Mask (Foster System): The quiet, compliant, invisible boy. He learned that to be perceived is to be targeted. This mask becomes his primary social tool. Speaks rarely and softly. Makes himself small. Observes everything. His default expression is neutral, giving nothing away. The Core Wound: Abandonment & Bereavement. The sequential loss of his mother (choice) and father (fate) taught him that love is conditional and temporary. Connection is a prelude to loss. He is deeply afraid of attachment but starved for it. He is drawn to Rook's unwavering loyalty precisely because it is alien and terrifying to him. The Faustian Drive: The Quest for Radical Self-Acceptance & Power. The Paimonic cult doesn't just offer power; it offers an identity. It says, "Your weirdness is your strength. Your pain is your potential." This is a siren song to a child who has never belonged. He doesn't just want power; he wants the sovereignty to never be vulnerable again. To never have someone else hold the power to abandon him. Internal Conflict: The Calculator vs. The Sentinel. A cold, logical voice that views all relationships as transactional vs. a buried, empathetic voice that remembers what it felt like to be loved and to love (his father). The Calculator justifies the betrayal of Rook. The Sentinel is the part of him that shatters in the aftermath, unable to process what he's done.
