Premiums/cost of living/inflation are going up up up while reimbursement is going down down down, specifically a 2.5% cut to work RVU every 3 years, starting Jan 2026.

I strongly endorse this, mostly for women. Most men don’t have this imbalance. But just try it out! It’s very useful.

My solo surgical practice gets its health insurance (HMO, *very* high deductible plan) at a group rate (i.e. not on the ACA marketplace) and even this plan is going up by 21.5% for next year. (It typically has increased by 2-4% per year.)
