Tbh blocking the socials and only leaving educational stuff on the ipad has resulted in my daughter (10yo) rocking me in chess then making fun of me in German so…. i do think this might work.

i think social media in and of itself probably has been catastrophic for such movements, both because it exposes people intimately to them (who wouldn’t otherwise see them)….but also because it mitigates against such movements becoming competent

Maths is pretty simple - US average revenue per user is higher because it is higher income. Large, lucrative coherent market for attention means it is the exact same for misinformation. Singapore and Switzerland are high income but a heated racist laksa or fondue war is poor return on effort.
