@ysteachingnhs.bsky.social I wish to bring to your attention the rudeness of the security guard working on the car park today. He swore at my 86 yr old disabled dad who only wanted to park in the disabled carpark. Hugely disappointed by this behaviour.

This wonderful poem by Marianne Moore has long encouraged me to boldly go:

I May, I Might, I Must
If you will tell me why the fen
appears impassable, I then
will tell you why I think that I
can get across it if I try.

Such a chilly walk on the Westwood today. The Westwood was gifted to Beverley in the fourteenth century by the Archbishop of York. It’s still used for grazing cattle in the summer months. #winterwalk

I love this especially the girls peering through the window to get a first look. I wonder what they think of her?
The painting reminds me of the scene in my book, 'The Hollywood Governess' where Hester's new pupil isn't sure she's going to like having a governess.
The New Governess by Edmund Blair Leighton (English artist, lived 1852–1922). A new arrival at the Seminary for Young Ladies.
