This is the crescent moon from last night behind the California Tower in Balboa Park. Normally I plan these types of shots out in advance, but yesterday I was bored and began playing around in mooncalc. It looked like this alignment would work so I gave it go. Photo at about 9:12PM, single exposure.

This is a small sea cave south of La Jolla shores, which is only accessible during winter negative tides. One still has to pay attention to the tides to not get trapped of course!

I feel lucky to have made this shot; I saw this light out of the corner of my while walking through a quiet forest. I took a couple of focus stacks, and the light was gone before I knew it. I am no stranger to quickly fleeting light, but I was not expecting it midday in a forest!
