An introduction for new folk, I guess

I play indie games, traditional roguelikes (DCSS, Angband, etc), board games, card games, tabletop RPGs

I have degrees in medieval history

I wrote unnecessarily verbose flavour text for a jam game once

Capitalism gives me the ick
What kind of monitor angle is that, fictional person??

Did *anyone* know that Amazon had tried to establish a rival to Steam on multiple occasions over the course of 15 years?!
I am genuinely in awe at how bad Amazon are at selling games. Remember recently, one of their managers said that they'd tried to launch a games store to compete with Steam and threw billions at it? And everyone's response was 'What store?'.
Genuinely incredibly fascinating study in what marketing vectors lead to literally zero sales here, wowwww

It's all wildly inaccurate, in any case. I've listened to that Cecilia Krull clip a few times, but there are hundreds of musics I've listened to more.

My most watched topic was British culture, which something I watch occasionally but not often.

Wayyyy off, YouTube.
YouTube Recap finally landed, and while I'm not surprised that Leaving is top of my music listens, I'm pretty amused that the cheesy Darkstone Will Shine (from the 1999 game Darkstone) is number 3 😂

It occurs to me that I never specified the two songs:

It's funny that I'm "a top 2% global fan" when I know literally two songs by them

Hi! Now six months into the Switch 2 generation, I'm looking to speak to developers – from indie to AAA – about whether or not they have dev kits for the console and what developing (or not) is like for it.

Can be anonymous, if wanted! RTs appreciated🙂

Humble Bundle is swapping your unredeemed Steam keys for Epic versions without any notice
Steam keys from Humble Bundle are disappearing or turning into Epic versions without notice. Find out why and what you should do now.

Next finish: Path of the Abyss

A 'blobber' with a clever combat system that forces you to make agonising decisions. It has a steep learning curve thanks to poorly explained mechanics (there are some aspects I still don't understand) but it's worth persisting with.

This #RandomGameSaturday gives us Mario Kart DS

I bought this in San Francisco in 2008 and played it the entire time that I was stranded at the airport in Chicago on the way back

Who has favourites from 1995?
As we approach the time for year-end lists of top games, I thought it'd be fun to pick some top games from 30 years ago - 1995

Based on the Wikipedia entry, which is probably non-comprehensive, these would be my retrospective top 3 from 1995:

1) Terranigma
2) Dark Forces
3) Worms
