For those familiar w/ "ARkStorm/ARk2.0" flood scenarios for California, a comparable event has been unfolding on the Iberian Peninsula. These ridiculous rainfall accumulations, caused by a long series of extremely moist atmospheric rivers, have brought widespread severe flooding to Spain & Portugal.
Grazalema, Spain, received over 2,000 mm (78 inches) of rain in just the last 20 days.

Over a year’s worth of rain — and it’s only early February. This is hydrologically absurd.

don't even get me started on the howling misogyny of sports betting ads for women. it's clearly just "shit, we're running out of gullible men, gotta expand the market, but they treat sports like a Man Thing that women need to be taught to enjoy, and not A THING WOMEN ALREADY *BOTH ENJOY AND PLAY*

the cognitive dissonance of getting served girlboss-flavored sports betting ads interspersed with "need help with a gambling addiction?" ads in the same hour of television really makes you want to walk into traffic

A student came up to me after tonight's event and said they'd heard about originalism in school and it didn't sit right with them but they couldn't articulate the problem, and no one else around them acted like there were any problems with it, so they were grateful for my talk 🥹🥲

What victories? Where?

Are these victories in the room with us now?

NEW: Of all the states that voted for Harris over Trump in 2024, there's only one where a Dem governor is overseeing an ICE's 287(g) program:

Massachusetts.

Other blue states have quit, or even outright banned it. My colleague on what's happening: boltsmag.org/massachusett...
Inside ICE’s Only Contract with a Blue State - Bolts
As part of a 287(g) contract between state officials and ICE, Massachusetts continues to release prisoners into deportation—even as state lawmakers look to ban other forms of ICE collaboration.

Each time Trump has been asked if he'll pardon Ghislaine Maxwell, he's never said no.

She has the goods on him and Epstein.

There's no way she will spend 20 years in jail after she saw all these criminals pardoned by Trump.

I won't put it past Trump to commute her sentence.

I am struggling to think of any country this describes that doesn’t *also* let homeless people die on the street.
I've been to some countries where people live under military rule or autocracy. And without fail, one of the questions I get when they ask about life in the U.S. is whether it's true that Americans just let homeless people die on the street.
During freezing temperatures in Port Arthur, Texas, a 61-year-old homeless man was found dead in his wheelchair outside a convenience store.

He was wearing a hospital gown and no shoes. Authorities say he had been released from a hospital the previous day.

This is a diseased society.

Well, it's day 385 and while Putin continues his bloody assault on Ukraine, Trump has only cozied up to Russia & gotten played by Putin.

He's undermined Ukraine time and again and brought this war no closer to an end.
