Below is the gas generation profile from the ISP, it's very different to nuclear.
Nuclear is expensive as it is, but having it sit around doing nothing for more than half the year makes it even more expensive per GWh.
Even at 25% of grid you'd likely only reduce gas by half, but at enormous cost.

Isn't this just the AEMO step change position? 2050 is VRE backed: by short term storage (battery); by long term storage (largely hydro); rarely by gas but when needed it is critical (see 6.4 of the ISP).
If we can get to a 95% VRE grid with 5% gas I'd take that..

IMO the only AI involved is the LLM that generated the press release (and even then not that well).
Would be handy to have some independent assessment of these types of claims, their tech specs are rubbish marketing drivel and there's no data sheet available.

My recommendation is to change it to "Musée du Louvre". Special characters, mix of upper and lower case, basically bullet proof.

Hopefully in a couple of years will be able to face the other way and see the proposed Nyaninyuk Wind Farm come to fruition too - interesting seeing the community comments page for that one (nothing new under the sun etc)

Not quite as good in the colder parts of Oz. Would need to 3.5x my 6.4kW system here in Melbourne to meet our winter demand - and that's without an EV - highlighting the need for more wind, good interconnectors, and Snowy pumped hydro to come online.

Just a 6.4kW solar system at the moment, and even if we had batteries the Amber model wouldn't suit our winter profile at the moment (see June stats).
I think there's potentially more value in an Amber model but just for the exports instead of both consumption and export..
