Live your values.
Where you spend your money,
What you watch on TV,
What you wear,

$937,989.39: That's the amount of the penalty owed by Trump and Alina Habba, according to a new appeals court decision, which upheld a 2023 ruling that Trump and Habba committed "sanctionable conduct" by filing a "frivolous" lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and James Comey.

Gotta love how Ryan Lizza is farming engagement and hustling for subscribers to his Substack by drip-drip-dripping his Olivia Nuzzi story, complete with cliffhangers.

I think we can all concur that there are no heroes in this entire saga, right?

The last few years have been an endless series of “somebody could have done something heroic yet did the exact opposite instead.”
yeah it’s bad that Lizza has been sitting on this for so long but also how cursory and inept was that Vox investigation that not only managed to miss the biggest scandal in the history of American political journalism but affirmatively exonerated her bsky.app/profile/bkel...
So the editor of New York Magazine said there was no bias or ethical problems with Olivia's articles?

Does he still think that?

They should retract all of her stories

The first 4 decades of my life the top GOP platform item was the spread/defense of democracy globally.
Now its literally just Trump fealty.
Very weird.
It's not just that the United States has stopped trying to promote liberal democratic ideas internationally. It's that the United States is actively trying to promote the contrary. It's trying to turn more countries into Hungary.

Anyway, Nuzzi is going to milk this latest set of gross revelations for all it’s worth, parlaying it into more insipid fawning coverage on her I’m-not-sorry-but-this-is-a-redemption-tour gig.

She’s basically a less charming George Santos.
Nuzzi is like Trump in this sense: the worst thing about America is not that someone that awful exists, the worst thing is that much of the press promotes and normalizes it for clicks.

Every Democrat in Congress should put out a video saying troops have an obligation to refuse unlawful orders. Make them prosecute all of you. This isn't a close call.

I'd add Republicans too if I thought any of them had the courage to actually cross Trump on this.

This is the use of government-sponsored fear to silence dissent.

Vance is an A+ student of Trump's dog whistling. And he's especially expert in what Ian Haney López calls "racial theater," where he uses racist provocations to label his critics "the real bigots."

His key Senate ad from 2022 was pretty much nothing but this.
