There's an r/soccer thread that explains this is related to the Premiere League U12 Christmas Truce Tournament, but like... surely this is photoshopped?

There is no way Kaoru Mitoma sees this and goes "oh yeah this is totally something I should be taking a photo with," I'd hope???

Renofa Yamaguchi take a 2-1 lead over Omiya Ardija - they're fighting to avoid relegation and need some help from Ventforet Kofu, who are away at 17th-place Roasso Kumamoto.

JEF have put up a third.

Here's the current live table - Mito in first, Chiba in second, and Nagasaki have fallen to third!

Meanwhile, the J3 is about to kick off its final round. 6th through 10th all have a chance of qualifying for that final playoff spot, and Zweigen Kanazawa and Nara Club could potentially end the day tied on points, GD, goals, and head-to-head, which would require a lottery to break the tie.

Interesting catch from @xavita.bsky.social - compare how Reilac Shiga tweeted about this pro-rel series (posting the full schedule with a nice graphic) vs. how Azul Claro Numazu tweeted (only posting about the home game, linked to their homepage with a default thumbnail). #jleague

And by 'sponsor' I mean 'their logo was all over the ring'

Wouldn't be shocked if she finds an excuse to be overseas on every Day 15 for the rest of her tenure, just to avoid forcing the issue of whether the JSA will ever let a woman into the ring.

When Ishiba gave the trophy to Hoshoryu in January it was the first time a PM had done so since Abe in 2019.

We started the day with both Mito Hollyhock and V-Varen Nagasaki in position to clinch J1 promotion, and we've ended the day with four teams still eligible for the top two spots. #jleague

With a 2-0 halftime lead over Vissel Kobe in the Emperor's Cup final, Machida Zelvia are on the verge of their first major title in just their second J1 season, 13 years after they were relegated from the J2 to the JFL.

Pretty cool to see Japan's deaf football teams already wearing the new shirt at the ongoing Deaflympics.

Adidas began to supply teams under the umbrella of the Japan Inclusive Football Federation with the same uniforms worn by the Samurai Blue and Nadeshiko Japan in 2023.

They had comic vendors! Their match poster was Attack On Titan-themed! Incredible stuff.

Nobody seemed interested in trying to catch up today! Kagoshima and FC Osaka both drew, so Tochigi City and Vanraure Hachinohe can both clinch promotion with a single point in the next two games.

Meanwhile Zweigen Kanazawa have jumped into the last playoff spot.

TIL that not only would Wilfried Nancy be Celtic's *second* Black manager, but the first was, erm, responsible for this headline:

I just don't know... I think the uniform is B but the markings are too bubbly/blocky. Not sure if that's enough to drop it to C though.

AND ANOTHER ONE! Nadeshiko League 2 side Diosa Izumo FC, who in their debut last year made it all the way to the pro-rel playoff where they lost 3-2 on aggregate to Nittaidai SMG Yokohama, have stunned the WE League's RB Omiya Ardija in penalties.

Are you really living your best life if you aren't doing it in #JLeague socks?

Interestingly enough the JFA appears to have done some overseas media sales for this game so overseas fans will be able to watch it, though I have no idea who Solidsport are.

Translation of the JFA's statement on the key visual change, which is drawing applause as well as complaints that the new visual doesn't have a Japanese flag and other accusations of deep state fuckery.
