Was der BDI in seinem jüngsten Monatsbericht über die deutsche Automobilindustrie schreibt, steht ja irgendwie in einem gewissen Gegensatz zum Einsatz der Bundesregierung für den Verbrennungsmotor.
Das Jahr 2025 ist geprägt von dem sukzessiven Vormarsch der Elektromobilität, auf die die deutschen Firmen insbesondere im Inland setzen. Deutschland ist hinter China und vor den USA der wichtigste Produktionsstandort für E-Autos weltweit. Bis einschließlich September wurden 1,26 Millionen E-Pkw (+ 29%) im Inland gefertigt, davon waren allein 916.000 (+ 21 %) rein batterieelektrisch angetrieben. Die hohe Nachfrage nach Plug-in-Hybriden illustriert, dass die Transformation ein schrittweiser Prozess ist. Im Jahresverlauf wurden 345.000 PHEV (+ 57 %) in Deutschland hergestellt. Der Anteil von E-Pkw an der gesamten Inlandsproduktion erreicht im Jahresverlauf 40 Prozent. Damit hat der Auto-mobilstandort Deutschland seine Hausaufgaben gemacht, was die von der EU geforderten COz-Grenz-werte angeht. Die strikten COz-Vorgaben im Bund mit der in Relation zu den Zielen noch zu verhaltenen Kundennachfrage nach E-Mobilität üben jedoch einen starken Druck auf das Gesamtmarktvolu-men aus. Export Die Exporte bewegten sich in den ersten zehn Monaten mit 2,7 Millionen Pkw auf Vorjahresniveau. Hiervon waren bereits 41 Prozent Elektro-Fahrzeuge. Autos made in Germany sind in Skandinavien, in den Beneluxstaaten, aber auch in Frankreich sowie in Spanien inzwischen überwiegend elektrisch angetrieben. Österreich hat mit der EU den Methan-Pledge unterschrieben: Zusammen die Methanemissionen um -30% bis 2030 vs 2020 zu senken

2020 lagen die Methan Emissionen in Österreich bei 7.1 Mio t CO2e, 2024 bei 6.8 Mio t. Das ist nur eine Reduktion von 4.2%. Was bedeutet andere EU Länder müssen mehr machen.

Global CO2 emissions are showing signs of levelling, thanks to a slight decline in net land-use change emissions offsetting continued growth in fossil emissions.

The trends are way off compared to the 1.5C scenarios with no or low overshoot assessed in the IPCC.

Petra Nova Captures More Than Five Million Tons of Carbon Dioxide —Carbon reduction equivalent to removing approximately 1.2 million passenger cars from American roads for a year— Houston—February 17, 2025—Petra Nova, the world’s largest post-combustion carbon dioxide capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) facility, has safely captured, transported and sequestered more than five-million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2). “We are very excited and proud that we have captured five-million tons of CO2, significantly reducing the environmental impact of coal-fired power generation,” said Toshiya Nakahara, President and CEO ENEOS Xplora. “This first-of-a-kind project has proven that carbon capture can prevent millions of tons of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere.” During operations, Petra Nova separates and captures 90% of the CO2 from a portion of the post-combustion flue gas at one of NRG's W.A. Parish Power Plant coal units in Texas, USA. It then, transports and injects that CO2 into the West Ranch Oil Field approximately 80 miles southwest of the plant to enhance crude oil production while simultaneously sequestering the CO2 underground. The Petra Nova facility can capture approximately 1.4 million metric tons of CO2 per year. By utilizing the 5 million metric tons of CO2 at the oil field, ENEOS Xplora has significantly increased the production of US domestic crude oil at the field. The captured CO2 is sequestered more than a mile below the surface of the earth in the oil reservoir. Extensive monitoring has verified that the sequestered CO2 remains in place in the field.

The same for journalists. If a politician or business leader spits out 1.5C or net zero, ask them how fast emissions need to drop to reach net zero in 2050, and how fast they are dropping today. Point out the contradiction. Make them explain it.

Every single company, government or individual celebrating the IEA's new fossil-explosion scenario is also celebrating the heating of earth by three bloody degrees:

Of course they are: buying fossil fuels and burning them is obscenely expensive and unreliable and requires constant, expensive support

Wow - this is a good one. In most regions, power grid system costs are the worst in the fossil-fuel-explosion scenario - in Europe and China, it's cheapest in the 'net zero' scenario
