Weirdo on a bike. IT stuff. Getting old but undeterred.
I love when half the evidence looks like Boba Fett's on-set photo complaint about craft services.
Yup, I've seen enough. The guys were a pack of clowns who were almost certainly entrapped by FBI agents.

After 10+ years of paying annual maintenance on my propane tank, I got a form letter telling me I'm no longer an "active" customer. It kindly offered that I could keep the tank for $250 or they'll come pick it up. So far my efforts to resolve this have been 100% AI interactions with no solution. 🤬

Lies, damn lies, statistics, and now a magical 4th thing: ~synthetic statistics~
Did you know that from tomorrow, Qualtrics is offering synthetic panels (AI-generated participants)?

Follow me down a rabbit hole I'm calling "doing science is tough and I'm so busy, can't we just make up participants?"

Ooh a sternly-worded private message? My pearls!
Trump reportedly sent "stern private message" to Netanyahu stressing that killing of top Hamas commander over the weekend was a violation of the ceasefire agreement brokered by Trump. But if the scolding is not done in public, it's as if it didn't happen. www.axios.com/2025/12/15/i...

So the new Microsoft Baseline Security modes for Office etc are neat, but building the actual enforcement in Office Policy Service is really bumming me out. That service is not exposed to Graph or have any versioning/timestamp support.

"ICE and CBP must be abolished" is the only reasonable position. We can debate the specifics of new agencies for immigration functions, but these agencies are simply too infected with a culture of impunity, racism, and fascism to continue. They're gangs with badges.
Armed ICE agents trapped US citizens in a restaurant and demanded their papers. Federal agents walked into East African restaurants in Cedar-Riverside, MN. They closed and blocked the doors. Then they demanded to see everyone’s papers. Every person present was a US citizen.

Just randomly discovered I can now issue employee Verified ID's in my demo tenant. Raced to upload a logo, style the cred, issue a couple, tie the issuer to an access package, and present it to light up access. SO COOL. And SO EASY.

#region tags were great, but once I cracked open that can of worms I realized #functions were just a small step away. Ended up rewriting the entire thing and got so much more control. I am constantly impressed at how much you can do with plain ol' PowerShell.

One day I'll be brave enough to try replacing parts of my PowerShell behemoth with functions, but #region tags just improved my life dramatically. Kinda enjoying relearning how to make magical things happen in code.

PowerShell ISE experiment lasted all of a minute. Code that worked great in raw PS threw errors. Switched to VSCode + PowerShell extension, per recommendations here, and it's so much friendlier. Thanks, fam!

Any proposed solution that includes "just" is an automatic 🚩🚩. It's a marketing word that makes it seem that problems can be solved simply with novel thinking. "You just enable this setting..."
Most (good) solutions are proposed not by newcomers, but by people who understand an issue deeply.

There are exceptions, of course, but generally, if a solution seems "obvious", it's because you don't understand the problem as well as you think. 🧵

Given 2 days to read 300+ pages of documentation and churn out a generic SoW for a project, I was told to make Copilot do it. Have now lost an entire day and have almost nothing to show for it. Are we all better at our jobs now?
