Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.

I've seen a few people complain about For You being too good at surfacing people's alt accounts.
I think to solve this we can let people opt out their account posts from appearing in For You.
If you want your account posts to not appear on For You feel free to DM me with "remove me from For You".

i wonder if label hydration could be spun out as a separate service like @microcosm.blue, or maybe more like an irc bouncer.
basically a (self?) hosted tool that ingests all the labelers you're subscribed to and makes its own bloom filter for them

recent remarks from @frame.work's CEO, nirav patel, are incredibly disappointing, and reflect a recurring theme that i'm seeing in tech: embracing, in both vocal and financial support, right-wing bigots and fascists with the excuse of "they make good tech"

finally!! however a bit disappointed that despite being the ostensibly uber woke website we only get 20 characters
for reference, mastodon gives 255 for generic profile meta fields, discord gives 40 specifically for pronouns

Once again thinking about AT Collections. We need a primitive that can organize _any_ record in anybodies PDS.
There ought to be a way to do shared collections, but the protocol isn't amenable to that, so personal is fine.
But it must mix any type of content: profiles, scrobbles, anisota items

tldr these are the primitives i’m personally warm to. the first one probably can’t take off in userland if the app doesn’t embrace it. but maybe some other atproto app will? or maybe bluesky will do something like this? i’m not sure!
i just think there should be two user facing things.
one is something between pinterest Boards, reddit Subreddits, and twitter Communities. it’s basically just Lists of posts. i call it Collections in my head.
the other is kinda like feeds, you know, whatever Discover is. i’d probably just use one

indexer. it’s an indexer.
it can do other stuff too. all software can do other stuff too! but its role in the network is to index the firehose. it’s an indexer.

I think "App View" might be the single worst named thing in the protocol… so many people think this means "the app through which you view" 🫠

So to paraphrase, “The administration egregiously broke the law and did harm to people, but we judges don’t have the power to punish them. Nor do we have the power to make the victims whole. Also, we can’t stop them from continuing to break the law.”
There are no checks or balances. Not anymore.

Indeed it was illegal. But we can thank SCOTUS for making full relief impossible.
