MUTINY: We're taking back this ship

📍 Dallas/Guam
Pinned
I've been borrowing books from Dallas Public Library for years & always just used my DL on checkout. I didn't even know they had an actual card until today.

It features Brad Oldham's iconic affable Traveling Man & Bird friend reading together. I got choked up holding it.

I💗my library.

I was today years old when I learned about The Work Number & felt sick & tbh a little violated especially when I checked mine. ICYMI it is a report that provides potential employers all of your past income, employment dates, and even business income.

I'm freezing mine and urge you to freeze yours

ACIP has successfully cut out presentations from any career scientists at CDC, which used to be the only place one could find facts during the 2025 meetings.

Instead we will have presentations by such people as ACIP member and vaccine opponent Vicky Pebsworth and anti-vaxxer Mark Blaxill.

Watching this video 3 months later hits even deeper now as I read about VC gobbling up hockey rinks, forbidding parents from recording, photographing or streaming their kids’ games — just so they can charge them astronomical fees to watch corporate recordings.

Stop asking why corporate Democrats keep failing and pay attention to what they do. Jeffries is openly pushing the party to move further into Neoliberal capitalism and championing an agenda that’s defined by a venture capitalist.

They’re not failing. They’re in on it.

Michael Moore, Christopher Byers and Stevie Branch deserve justice. So do the WM3 who spent 18 years in prison for murders they didn't commit.

In the wholesale mass cultural appropriation of the AAVE term "woke," removing it from its Black context & never caring to ask Black folks what it means, it's made so white people on the left & right alike constantly try to define it. No one's supposed to know what it means, its meaning is hollow.

3) There wasn't anything to suggest this was a history-changing event. You know that mugshot photo. It's NOT from this arrest but from one 2 months later when she was arrested as a 'boycott leader.' It's often misattributed because we like the version where the right act is obvious when it happens.

Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.
